2D Animation and Illustration

About

Welcome to my online Portfolio.

My name is Owen Morrison and I am a freelance 2d animator and concept artist.

I began drawing at a very young age. I studied Classical Animation at Ballyfermot Senior College for three years in Dublin. Here I learned improve my drawing skills and get the fundamentals of animation. I graduated in 2003 with a Higher National Diploma. After finishing college I was involved in some freelance projects which gave me experience in working with Macromedia FlashMX.

My next stop was Banjax studios, later Ltl Productions, in Belfast. There I was part of an in-house team producing a children’s series called Lifeboat Luke. This was a series comprising of 52 x 5 minute episodes for children aged 4 to 7 years of age. This job gave me the experience with Adobe After Effects and the many steps involved in production, from 2d animation, scene prep to clean up.
When production of Lifeboat Luke finished I decided to go back to freelance work, which is now what I am pursuing.

I recently have finished a short animation piece that will be the introduction for a film that may be chosen to be presented at MIPDOC in Cannes.

I am currently involved in drawing the art for comic strips appearing on a website to be launched later this year. I am also working with a company based in LA doing art concept, building of characters, and animation for websites.

If you are looking for a 2d animator or concept artist I would be very happy to hear from you. Please contact me via this website or alternatively at EMAIL CONTACT.
